Western Regional Addiction Resource Collaboration (WRARC)
Community Action Partnership (CAP)
As a result of New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports funding, as part of the Western Regional Addiction Resource Center, a new, region-wide (Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Chautauqua counties) coalition has been developed to help address substance abuse issues through a variety of environmental approaches. This new coalition is headed by 2 regional coordinators and contains representation across all of the five counties and across numerous different sectors (parents, law enforcement, educators, businesses, media, etc.). The group has many responsibilities including, but not limited to: creating a local speakers bureau, conducting focus groups to determine risk within the region, developing and disseminating a regional prevention message on a yearly basis, providing outreach efforts to high-risk areas, and determining appropriate environmental projects to be funded across the area.
